In June of 2007, I set out to record an album consisting of only acoustic guitar, synthesized strings, and vocals. The album would have been titled š©š¦ššš°šŖšš°š·š¦šŗš°š¶šØš°š°š„š£šŗš¦, but the inspiration receded as quickly as it arose. Soon, I was working on another project and left the unfinished material to sit on the shelf until the fire in my belly for it had returned.
Months later, when revisiting š©š¦ššš°šŖšš°š·š¦šŗš°š¶šØš°š°š„š£šŗš¦, the string/guitar/vocals concept seemed far too restrictive. I recorded two new rock songs before abandoning the album again. I just didn't feel like working on new music; I felt like taking a long break. It was almost another year before I picked up the guitar and hammered out six new pop rock tunes; all very different from the previous five.
Altogether, it became my twelfth full-length album since 1999, and it was officially released during the Summer of 2009. Recorded in three separate phases, over the course of two years, it was the most difficult album that I ever compiled - at least, at the time.
Since I lost the plot early on, thereās no need for a title. It's just šš¢š£š¶šš°š¶š“ šš¦š¤ššŖšÆš¦, and I sincerely hope that you enjoy it.
